Leadership Development Network
High School teens volunteer as Buddies to the Special Needs actors, encouraging them throughout the week. The experience forms life-changing bonds of friendship. Not only are their lives touched, but each of the volunteers learn from the experience of working with such special people, developing strengths, values and abilities, while learning the power of servant leadership. These student volunteers are able to grow their sense of diversity and leadership as each is assigned to one of our Special Needs actors. These unique teens shadow their assigned actors throughout the week to assist with rehearsals, games, art activities, special events and on stage for the final performance. This program provides each actor with music in their souls if they can’t speak and dancing in their hearts if they can’t walk.
