THE GOAL: to bring to Arizona the Challenge Aspen Magic of Music and Dance Camp. This is a program for children and young adults with physical or mental disabilities --- that prepares them in one week to stage a wonderful theater production that is written and choreographed just for them.
FOR PARTICIPANTS: The Magic of Music and Dance is an annual event that has a 95% participant return rate because it is unique and exceptional opportunity for its participants to be immersed in a week of adventure, fun and friendship where the magic of inspiration that puts: Music in their voices –-- or in their souls if they can’t speak Dancing in their feet --- or in their hearts if they can’t walk One can see them blossom with joy and pride in their accomplishment when they hear the applause and see the appreciation of the audience.
FOR PARENTS: Parents experience the thrill of seeing their children, – who face a life of heart-renting challenges experience fun, friendship and opportunities to develop their creativity, self-esteem and pride in accomplishment.
FOR VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers receive unique training and also experience the life-changing joy and challenge of working; and sharing their support, love and leadership with people with disabilities. By helping participant transcend their disabilities the volunteers develop their own strengths, values and abilities. Also, they learn the power and effectiveness of Servant Leadership.
THE COMMUNITY: Communities that support and develop their most challenged residence are communities that are creating exceptional value and pride for all of their residence Challenge Aspen, Snowmass, Colorado has partnered with ZETA21 International Learning Foundation to bring this unique program to Arizona.
